Sonohysterogram

A sonohysterogram, also called saline infusion sonography, is a specialized ultrasound used to get a detailed view of the inside of the uterus. During the procedure, a small amount of sterile saline is gently introduced into the uterine cavity through a thin catheter. This fluid helps outline the uterine walls so the ultrasound can more clearly detect abnormalities such as polyps, fibroids, scarring, or changes in the uterine lining. The test is typically recommended for women experiencing abnormal bleeding, fertility issues, or certain ultrasound findings that need further evaluation. At Cima, our skilled team performs sonohysterograms with your comfort in mind, explaining each step and ensuring the process is as quick and gentle as possible.
