Grad school: The Ohio State University
My journey to midwifery began during my first pregnancy when I was introduced to the midwifery model of care. I found pregnancy and childbirth to be empowering and life changing and this sparked a passion for women’s health across the lifespan. I began training as a doula with the ultimate goal of becoming a midwife myself.
During my midwifery training I had the pleasure of serving various patient populations in rural and urban Ohio. I also had the opportunity to complete a medical mission trip to Honduras, which helped hone my medical Spanish skills.
I live in Decatur with my wonderful husband and three small children. We have two cats and a hamster. I love to hike and travel, especially internationally. I am also an avid knitter, and can make basically anything as long as I have a pattern.
