Kathryn Botelho is a transient from California. She moved to Atlanta to pursue her dream of becoming a certified nurse midwife. She graduated from Emory University in 2007 with a dual degree as a family nurse midwife. During her time in school she worked as a labor and delivery nurse at Piedmont Hospital. Following graduation she worked for A practice out of North Fulton hospital and then joined CIMA in 2011.
As a single teen mom she knows the challenges and barriers that young moms face and became a midwife to empower women to take control of their health and encourage them down a path of success for themselves and their families. “Everyday it remains a miracle to welcome babies into the world. Pregnancy and childbirth can be a very vulnerable time for women and as a provider I try to be sensitive to each patients needs and concerns. I believe in open communication to make every visit an opportunity for patients to participate in their care. I am honored to be apart of such a special time in the lives of women and their families I look forward to the opportunity to serve you.”
Outside of work Katie enjoys: cooking, traveling, working out, and spending time with her friends and family. She is involved in a women’s small group through her church. She has a grown daughter, Lauren .
